Andy has been fixing and maintaining my family's 'fleet' for around five years now, and I've never trusted any garage as much as I do his work and judgement. What you won't get is a service manager in a suit, a freshly polished workshop floor, a courtesy car and valet, with a guarantee to have your car fixed by 5 PM or your money back. What you will get is an honest, down to earth, highly skilled, level-headed mechanic renowned for his expertise and experience with maintenance, repair, national award-winning re-manufacture, and MOT testing. I know him to be very familiar with a range of makes and models, and have seen his work on cars from the 1950s to just a couple of years old.

I come here for all of my MOT's, despite me living almost an hours drive away, because Andy is the most trustworthy and honest mechanic I've ever met and he's incredibly thorough with the MOT testing. Also the fact he has a "shake plate" at the MOT station (which a lot don't have, even Kwik Fit generally don't have them) means he can test play in all bushings and bearings front and back to pick up things your normal MOT testers might miss using manual techniques. He's also a genuinely nice guy. Highly recommended.

I own a 1968 Daimler,that Andy has looked after for 2-3 years now.His knowledge of that car and the majority of cars on the road,be it modern or classic unparalleled. You wont find a shiny garage.It is fascinating what he has around,and everything has a story. As for price,he has always been fair.You wont get an appointment in 2weeks.He will fit you in as soon as he can.Any problems I have had,I have rang him for advice,he has even popped down to take a look.

MoT'd my Rover 400 earlier this year and was fair and thoroughly, helpfully explaining how to put things right that needed it. No nonsense old car friendly place with a wealth of knowledge. Speaking of, also got my Austin Princess MoT'd here and he wasn't at all put off by the Hydragas like other garages I'd taken it to nor the idiosyncracies of an older vehicle like this. Excellent service and will definitely use again.
