Established in 1995, GW Auto Repairs is a reputable and successful family-run business located in the heart of Carlisle, Cumbria.
We are an MOT testing station and welcome all makes and models of cars and vans including light commercials. Our four fully qualified Vehicle Technicians have over 85 years of combined experience who can provide a wide range of auto repairs, servicing & vehicle maintenance.
As well as Class 4 MOTs for cars and small vans, we are also able to offer Class 7 MOTs (by appointment only) for motorhomes, large vans and light commercial vehicles.
Our Long Island Park site is situated close to the city centre just off James Street, so whether it be work, town, gym or swim, you can leave your vehicle with us for the day.

marcus mullins5 StarI have been using G W Autos for the last 20 years and from the early days of Gary and Dianne to Mike and Jo the service, honesty and value has been impeccable. We recently had the first MOT done on our car through the dealership as it was in for a warranty repair and they failed it for a seat belt buckle. We were told that someone had spent a lot of time trying to fix it but it couldn’t be done, so we were quoted £250 for the repair. I spoke to Mike who asked me to bring the car down and he was confident he would sort it in less than 5 minutes. My wife took the car down and said it was sorted in less than a minute with no charge, he even buckled every belt in to make sure they wouldn’t try it on when we took it back for the re test. Steve Wilson1 StarI've used GW on & off for a number of years, always with decent service.
Recently I've been let down though by a lack of communication & taking 3 days to get parts, re-order correct parts, then use no parts at all because they weren't needed?! (don't ask)... Then on collection found they left greasy marks all over the light grey cloth interior.
Not what I was expecting at all.

Mateusz Dec1 StarDisappointed. I asked for a quote to fix a few things around my Honda. A lady at the reception was friendly and promised to get back to me. I left my email and phone number but she never came back. I lost a week before I started searching another garage. I do not recommend this garage!!Monday 1st April 2024
